Grace H. Lee and Heather J. Broadwater

Grace H. Lee, J.D., is NBOA’s vice president, legal affairs. She provides guidance, resources and professional development in the areas of employment law, risk management and other legal compliance and regulatory matters that impact independent school business operations. Prior to joining NBOA, she represented independent schools in a wide range of legal matters including employment, contracts, student issues and governance. Grace earned her law degree from The George Washington University Law School and her B.A. from Northwestern University.

Heather J. Broadwater, J.D., is a partner at Potomac Law Group, PLLC. With a master’s degree in human resources, Heather worked in HR until she earned her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. Initially advising independent schools regarding employment law matters, Heather now also assists independent schools with a wide array of issues, including corporate compliance, enrollment contracts and student/family matters, allegations of abuse or misconduct, and governance issues.
