Grace H. Lee and Heather J. Broadwater

Grace H. Lee, J.D., is a partner with Venable LLP and NBOA's legal counsel. She provides guidance, resources and professional development in the areas of employment law, risk management and other legal compliance and regulatory matters that impact independent school business operations. Lee earned her law degree from The George Washington University Law School and her B.A. from Northwestern University.

Heather J. Broadwater, J.D., is a partner and senior employment attorney at Stanton Law, LLC. With a master’s degree in human resources, she worked in HR until she earned her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. Initially advising independent schools regarding employment law matters, Broadwater now also assists independent schools with a wide array of issues, including corporate compliance, enrollment contracts and student/family matters, allegations of abuse or misconduct, and governance issues.
